Get in Shape Now! My Top 7 Tips for Health and Fitness
Get in Shape Now! My Top 10 Tips for Health and Fitness.
Are you tired?
Do you feel fat, lazy, and out of shape?
And are you just sick and tired of being sick and tired of feeling like that?
So what are you gonna DO about it?
If you’re like MOST people, the answer to that question is: Nothing.
Just sit around & get fatter and lazier.
But that’s not YOU, right?!
Of course not.
YOU want to feel dynamic, powerful & energized.
YOU want to have that sleek, sexy body that turns heads.
Right? Of course you do.
So – what’s stopping you from getting & having it…
and feeling that way???
Probably just ONE single, simple thing:
You probably think you don’t know HOW to get in shape.
Or you think it’s going to be too much trouble for too little reward,
so why even try. Sound familiar?
Hey, it’s all good. I’ve been there myself.
And so have millions of other people.
Why do you think the diet & exercise industry is SO big?
People are lazy, and they’re constantly looking for
“The next big thing” that will get them in shape without them having to actually DO anything.
Well, I’ve got some news for you, my friend.
Good news & bad news.
Which do you want first?
Well, since you’re not actually here in front of me, you don’t get a choice!
So I’m going to give you the BAD news first, because I like to end on a positive note.
Here’s the BAD News:
Sorry. If you want to get in shape, it IS going to take some work!
There, I said it. Do you hate me now? 🙂
Get over it.
Here’s the GOOD News:
Getting in shape ain’t as hard as you’ve been led to believe!
Nope. In fact, it’s actually quite simple.
And it’s Easy.
And it’s FUN!
And YOU can DO it.
The hardest part of all this (and bear with me, ’cause the good stuff is coming) is…
Well, there’s really only TWO hard parts to getting in shape & feeling great.
I’m going to tell you what they are, then I’m going to tell you how to beat ’em.
The Two Hardest Parts of Getting in Shape Are:
1. Getting Started.
2. Staying Consistent.
Yep. That’s it. Just two simple things stand in the way of the fat you & the buff you.
Most people think that it’s hard to get started because they think that they don’t know
what to do. And if they don’t know what to do, they don’t want to waste their time
by doing something wrong.
Have you ever thought this yourself??
Search your thoughts & feelings. You know this is right.
Keep reading – I’m about to overcome that thinking in a moment.
And most people have a hard time sticking to something or
staying consistent because either their goal/motivation (reason why)
is not strong enough, or the person is not strong enough,
or… Well you know what?? That’s it!
Either the PERSON is not strong enough, or their motivation isn’t strong enough,
and they allow themselves to get sidetracked, give up, and just quit
before their new positive behavior becomes a good habit.
Can you dig it?
Does that make sense?
All righty then!
Now that we’ve got THAT stuff out of the way…
*Here’s What To Do To Get in Shape, Starting NOW:*
1. Stop Drinking SODAS!!
Do you have any idea how chock full of Sugar & bad chemicals that shit is??
Not to mention what it does to your body chemistry & brain!
Don’t believe me? Google this: “the effect of soda on the body”
Then come back here & leave your comments below.
2. Start Drinking WATER!
Yes. You know it. Water.
And guess what? ROOM TEMPERATURE IS BEST!
Yeah. I know. I LOVE a nice, cold glass of water.
Especially with or after a hot meal! Aaahhhhhhh.
But then I found out that our bodies have to work twice as hard
to digest it when it’s cold, and drinking a cold glass of water after a meal
is actually really bad for you, because it cuts your body’s ability to digest foods.
So the best thing is to drink room temperature water BEFORE a meal.
Oh, and you should drink at least 5-10 glasses a day. More if you’re sweating,
or also drinking coffee because you’ll need to replace your body fluids.
3. If You Drink Alcohol, Use MODERATION.
You really don’t need to drink a six-pack or bottle of wine every day.
Over time, this will slow you down – mentally & physically.
We all know that alcohol kills brain cells.
And drinking MORE alcohol kills more brain cells. Duh!
I don’t know about YOU, but I need all the brain cells I can keep.
Besides, no one really likes you when you’re acting all drunk & stupid. Trust me.
So think about cutting it back to only having 1-2 drinks no more than 1-2 times a week.
And if you’re not drinking now, give yourself a pat on the back!
But I hope you’re not preaching to people about it.
Because while a falling-down drunk may not be respected,
No one likes an uppity asshole either. LOL!
4. MOVE Your Ass!
They say that there’s good and bad about everything.
In this case, I’m talking about… Technology.
Yes, technology. Listen, because of technology, more people are sitting on their
butts for hours a day, tapping away on their keyboards, moving their mice,
and sitting in a catatonic state in front of a glowing tube.
I know, because that’s exactly what you & I are BOTH doing right now, right? 🙂
Not only that, but because of technology, we don’t have to WALK as much as we used to.
Why should we, when we can just jump in to our cars & drive right where we’re going?
I could go on, but I think you get the idea.
Let’s face it, all this great technology is making us LAZY!
So what should we do to counter it, while still staying productive?
Here’s a few hints:
–>Take frequent BREAKS from the computer. Get up. Stretch. Walk around.
Go drink some Water!!
–>Park Further Away From the Entrance of the Store.
Unless it’s raining hard & you forgot your umbrella.
You’ll find a parking spot easier, and you’ll get a little exercise in the process.
–>Do some exercises in the chair while you work!
Hey, just because you’re sitting on your buff doesn’t mean you can’t get buff!
Flex your stomach muscles, arm muscles, butt muscles… whatever!
Just DO something.
5. EAT the RIGHT Foods.
Man, I’m writing a BOOK here!
Ok, here’s some of the things to either AVOID entirely or seriously cut down on…
And honestly, these really shouldn’t come as a surprise.
Here’s what kind of foods to AVOID:
Fried foods, greasy foods, cheesy foods (I know), salty foods, very sweet foods.
This means & includes fried chicken, pizza, french fries, McDonald’s, Burger King & most fast foods,
donuts, cakes, etc.
Stop bitching! You KNOW that crap makes you fat!
Tell you what: If you can go a MONTH without eating any of that stuff,
you’ll deserve to have ONE DAY of eating whatever you want. Deal??
The hardest part is getting started, right? 🙂
(Oh, and for the love of God, please stop eating PORK!
Do you have ANY Idea how nasty that crap is for you?
How many diseases it can cause? Go ahead & Google it.
I DARE you!)
Conversely, here are some of the RIGHT Foods you should eat:
Vegetables, fruits (the more raw, generally, the better),
fresh fish, organic chicken, soy, brown rice, oatmeal, whole grain anything (breads),
nuts, lean beef, etc.
I know what you’re thinking….
“But Tony, that stuff tastes nasty!”
No, YOU taste nasty! Hahaha. Just kidding.
But seriously, that kind of good food tastes GREAT once you stop eating all the crap you’re used to-
all the high grease & fat & salt & sugar crap you’ve been shoving down your gullet since junior high school!
Try a couple simple healthy recipes that are only seasoned with natural herbs & spices.
A dash of salt & pepper. Some lemon juice. A little bit of butter, not the whole slab.
Try thinking like that, and you’re on your way to healthier eating.
And stop believing that it’s hard, because it’s not. It’s easy!
6. Work Out. Every Day.
Ok, here’s where people can get confused.
And I can understand why. There’s SO much information out there on
how to exercise… do this, don’t do that. Blah, blah, blah.
It CAN get confusing.
But DON’T let that confusion stop you from doing SOMETHING!
Hey, if you have no other idea about what to do (Honestly. Really? NO idea? Come on),
you could at least do some push-ups, sit-ups, walk around the freakin’ block,
do some squats in place w/out any weight, do some jumping jacks… whatever.
You don’t have to get it perfect, you just have to get it going.
Just do SOMETHING to move your body & get your blood flowing,
your heart rate up, and do some heavy breathing.
Oh, I guess that would imply something we ALL love… Sex!
Yeah, sex IS exercise!! So it counts, baby! Woo-hoo!
Just make sure you ‘talk to your doctor’ before starting any exercise routine.
Hopefully, he’ll agree with everything I’ve said here.
He damn well should! I just hope that if you talk with your doctor,
he doesn’t try to get you to take some ‘magic pills.’
But that’s a subject best left for another post.
This one has gone waaaaayyyy too long.
So I’ll leave you with the LAST Tip for Health & Fitness:
7. Get Some Sleep.
I think I’m really talking to myself on this one, because I’ll admit that I don’t sleep much.
However, I work from home, so I probably don’t face as much stress as you
or the average person does on a daily basis, so…
Anyway, studies have shown that when a person is constantly facing stress,
and they deprive themselves of sleep (or is it the stress that’s depriving them?),
they tend to age quicker & get sick more often.
Do we really need studies to tell us this? Seems like common sense to me.
But when we factor in things like people trying to overcome this with drinking
more caffeine to stay awake & alert, or taking drugs (legal or otherwise),
and a bunch of other bad habits, the effect is compounded exponentially.
And it all comes back to not getting enough sleep.
It seems we’re so busy, trying to squeeze so much in to a day
and get things done for whatever reason, we’re literally killing ourselves-
shortening our lives, and possibly lowering the quality of the time we have.
I don’t know. That’s what it seems like to me.
What do YOU think?? Think about it.
Oh, and if you’ve got something to say about this post,
then go ahead & leave your comments below!
Do you think I’m full of it?
Or does this book that I’ve written here make sense?
If you haven’t fallen asleep by now, please comment below.
I promise to read it.
Can you believe that I actually started this post as a “Top 10 List”??? Man!
I’ll close on this:
Changing your habits & getting in shape might seem like it’s impossible at first.
But believe me, once you get it going and moving in the right direction,
it gets easier. And then, when you start to see the RESULTS you’re getting,
like losing fat, gaining muscle, and feeling better/more energized,
you’ll get more encouraged to do more. That’s how it works!
So get started, enjoy the process, and stick to it.
You’ll add years to your life and life to your years!
